Here's the process of making Zyra. These are early ideation sketches before she was finalized to be who she is now.
I did many explorations and started doing some subtle variations here. Me and Morello(Ryan Scott) worked hard on picking the right direction for the character. We really thought about playing with the thick vine hair that could potentially show really cool attack moves and animations. We also played with the short vine hair that could glow when she casted magic. Ultimately what we wanted was a deadly and fierce Zyra that represented nature's wrath.

I actually like the short vine hair a lot. Not too big of a fan of the long vine hair. Wish it was a little more like her sneak peak art.

I actually like the idea of a short-haired Zyra. Especially E (and the detail shot). Random odd question: would it be hard to make a skin based off that concept? I would buy it in a heartbeat. Zyra is such a strong support AND mid, so I'd use it a lot (my main roles).

Would be awesome for Christmas sales to have a Zyra Winter Skin where her W spell makes snowmen who throw snowballs :D
